– Releases Key Resolutions from Its 179th Meeting in Abuja
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a series of major decisions following its 179th meeting held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja. The meeting was presided over by the National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda.
In a statement signed by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, the party revealed the dissolution of the Enugu State Executive Committee with immediate effect after what it described as a comprehensive review of the state of the party in the state.
A seven-member Caretaker Committee has been constituted to steer the affairs of the Enugu chapter pending further directives. The committee will be inaugurated on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
The members of the Caretaker Committee are:

Dr. (Mrs.) Oby Ajih – Member
Dr. Chiedozie Nwafor – Member

In another key decision, the NWC approved the report of the Ekiti State Governorship Aspirant Screening Exercise, clearing Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and Mrs. Atinuke Oluremi Omolayo to contest the party’s primary election. Two aspirants; Engr. Ojo Kayode and Mrs. Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi were disqualified.

The party also disclosed plans to inaugurate the APC National Reconciliation Committee, to be chaired by former Osun State Governor and founding National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, at a date to be announced soon.
Similarly, the timetable for party congresses across the country will be released in due course, while the APC Constitution Amendment Committee is set to begin public hearings before the end of October 2025.
In addition, the NWC confirmed that the APC Anambra State Governorship National Campaign Council will be inaugurated shortly.
The meeting, observers say, signals renewed efforts by the APC national leadership to strengthen internal structures, foster unity, and consolidate its influence ahead of upcoming elections nationwide.
