Armed robbers in the early hours of Thursday invaded the residence of former Ijebu-Ode Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Emilola Gazal, carting away valuables, cash, and his vehicle.
The attakk reportedly occurred around 2:00 a.m., when a gang of three armed men broke into the residence. According to sources, the assailants compelled the former chairman to open his banking application and transfer funds before making away with his silver-coloured vehicle and other possessions.
Speaking via telephone through a neighbour, Alhaji Gazal described the incident as terrifying, noting that the robbers were heavily armed and operated with precision.
The Ijebu-Ode Police Area Command, Igbeba, has confirmed the incident and disclosed that investigations are ongoing. Security operatives are said to be intensifying efforts to track down the suspects.
