JUST IN: Tinubu Hails Economic Reforms as Nigeria Hits 2025 Revenue Target Four Months Early

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday announced that Nigeria achieved its 2025 revenue target in August, crediting sweeping economic reforms and a renewed push in the non-oil sector.

Speaking at the Presidential Villa while receiving founding members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and The Buhari Organisation, led by former Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, the President declared that the economy was “heading in the right direction.”

“The economy is now stabilised. Nobody is trading pieces of paper for foreign exchange anymore. The economy is now predictable. You don’t need to know the CBN Governor, Yemi Cardoso, to obtain forex or import goods,” Tinubu said.

The President highlighted plans to establish agricultural mechanisation centres across all regions, aimed at boosting food production, creating jobs, and securing food sovereignty.

He assured Nigerians that his Renewed Hope Agenda remained focused on infrastructure, healthcare, security, and food sufficiency.

Tinubu also pledged to immortalise former President Muhammadu Buhari with a Buhari House, while promising more political inclusion for members of the CPC bloc within his government.

In their remarks, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, and former Governor Al-Makura praised the President’s leadership and reforms. Al-Makura assured Tinubu of the group’s loyalty and support ahead of the 2027 elections.
