Oyo 2027: Oladele Strengthens Oyo APC Unity, Hosts LG Secretaries, PROs for Parley

The 66 Oyo APC LG Secretaries and PROs were full of praises for APC guber aspirant and Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland, Oloye Saheed Oladele at an event organised by the Ibadan chief to host them today.

Oloye Saheed Oladele played host to the 66 APC local government secretaries and the PROs at Bodija, Ibadan.

Welcoming the secretaries and PROs, Princess Funmilola Balogun thanked them for honouring Baameko’s invitation. She said the purpose of the meeting was to familiarise with them and to talk to them on how to bring progress to Oyo State through the governorship aspiration of Oloye Oladele.

In his speech, Oloye Saheed Oladele said he felt honoured that the notable party men and women across the 33 local governments responded to his invitation. He stressed the importance of ensuring that APC in Oyo State remains united, and that it’s paramount in his heart to bring unity and cohesion to the party. He told his guests that his intention to govern Oyo State is borne out of his conviction that the state deserves better in terms of all indices of governance.

Baàmẹ̀kọ́ reiterated that his chief agenda when voted in are local government autonomy and education. He berated the present government in Oyo State for depriving local government areas of the growth and development they deserve by starving them of their statutory funds accrued to them from the federal allocation. He promised that he would ensure that all the 33 local governments develop at the same pace, allowing them to use their statutory funds for the betterment of the grassroots. Oladele concluded by saying President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the sweating hen while governors against local government autonomy are the concealing feathers.

Fielding questions from the party stakeholders, the Baàmẹ̀kọ́ of Ibadanland asserted that it is only the emergence of a credible and marketable governorship candidate from the APC that would ensure victory for the party in Oyo State at the polls in 2027.

Responding to Oloye Oladele on behalf of all the secretaries and PROs present, the party secretary in Ibadan North East local government, Mr Maruf Lawal Adeyemi, expressed that Baàmẹ̀kọ́ was the first guber aspirant ever in the history of Oyo State to accord them recognition by inviting them to a political consultation, a statement unanimously echoed by all the secretaries and PROs present. He said Baàmẹ̀kọ́ could be appropriately called ‘Koṣẹlẹri’ because of the novel idea of inviting them to the meeting for consultation. They advised Oloye Oladele to continue to engage the top echelon of APC at the federal level, the apex leaders in the state and the grassroots leaders in the local government areas.
