Police Elevates Force PRO to Deputy Commissioner, Deploys Him to Delta State

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the promotion of Olumuyiwa Adejobi to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and his redeployment as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Delta State Command.

Until his elevation, Adejobi served as the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). He was decorated with his new rank following the approval of the Police Service Commission, with the posting described as a strategic move to strengthen security operations in one of the nation’s most sensitive commands.

The announcement also dispels speculations by some media platforms, which suggested that Adejobi was controversially removed as Force PRO. Police authorities clarified that the redeployment was neither punitive nor controversial but rather part of routine career progression and administrative restructuring within the Force.

According to senior officers at Force Headquarters, Adejobi’s vast experience in public communication, operational management, and community policing positioned him for the new role.

As DCP Operations in Delta State, Adejobi will oversee security operations, tackle violent crimes, and foster stronger police-community relations in a state that remains pivotal to Nigeria’s internal security architecture.

His promotion and redeployment further highlight the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to merit-based advancement and the strategic deployment of its top officers where their expertise is most needed.
